It makes a very readable introduction to the basics of prayer with chapters on such subjects as the Mass and the Rosary. Other engaging chapter titles include “Become Alive with the Life of Christ,” “Trust Jesus” and “Encourage Others”.

For those of you who might have trouble praying or feel that dryness we all experience at times, the author’s chapter entitled “Engage in Dialogue Prayer” is especially useful. For Mr. McDevitt, prayer is not just reciting verses from books or memory. It is about allowing Christ to come into our hearts and souls and engaging Him in the relationship He so much wants to have with all of us. Mr. McDevitt clearly wants very much to share the peace and joy he’s experienced in his relationship with Jesus with all of us.
